Von Newman is a Brooklyn-Born Musician-Singer/Songwriter , mixing American southern gospel,soul, and R&B roots with his New York City flare, a polished stage presence with imaginative versatile vocal arrangements that truly redefine the art of being a Stylist. Whether it be his original arrangements, standards, or the classics. Von Newman has the unique ability to connect people and song in a soul gripping way. Though playing the drums is his first love he also enjoys playing piano and various other ways of creating sound.Von Newman credits his inspirations to the unique style of Donny Hathaway Stevie Wonder ,Whitney Houston , Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gay, Marvin Winans,John P.Kee  Aretha Franklin and James Brown

For a great part of his musical journey as a teenager Von Newman moved to Greensboro,NC  and performed for churches, events and club venues all over the East Coast. Von Newman, being in the business for more than 25 years now is not only a Solo Artist but  has performed BGV’s for and been mentored by artists such as Anthony Hamilton , Adina Howard, Jimmy Cozier ,The Hamiltones, Al B Sure, ShelbyJ,  Fantasia, Marvin Sapp, Sybil, Steve Lawrence, Michael K. Williams, Sunshine Anderson, Big Daddy Kane, Cuba Gooding Jr, Monica and Wale.

Von Newman always says “Music is how I know God, Loves us “, and credits his faith in God and Music for saving him in the lowest times in his early life dealing with abandonment, loss  and Depression.

Von Newman released his first album The Newman Show in 2010 produced by Gavin Maestro.
